Gremlin Engine - News

Big architectural changes

The engine is going to strongly change its architecture in its next release.
In fact, I managed to setup a modular archtecture that divides the graphics loading part from the game engine itself.
The result? A smaller program file and the possibility to develop separated graphics engine with great benefits such as different bitmap formats or less complex loading procedures.
This is possible because of the wonderful BeOS Addon system.
I don't know if this kind of addon system will work on Linux or Java ports, but if it will not work this way, I'm sure that Francesco will find another way to do it right.
For more information, pay a visit to the "Coding" section: an article should be there by the time you read this.
